Steve Heimoff wrote a piece, Even a â€œnaturalâ€ winemaker canâ€™t define â€œnatural wine,” in response to one of our posts by winemaker Fabio Bartolomei:
Fabioâ€™s last two listsâ€“â€œIt does/doesnâ€™t contain the followingâ€ and â€œI did/didnâ€™t do these things to itâ€â€“are the best short course in winemaker interventions Iâ€™ve ever seen. I salute his honesty and commitment. The question he raises- whether his statements would be legally permitted on the back label of his wines in Americaâ€“is something I canâ€™t answer. If he could, then would consumers demand to know what all other wines have in them, or have had done to them?
