I've just returned from Vinitaly where I "discovered" Radikon. I knew these wines existed, whites made like reds, I had just never found them or tasted them.

I tasted the Ribolla Gialla 2004. It just left me stunned. I stood there grinning like an idiot, wondering how the hell can I these things home.

The RG 2004 reminded me of bringing in the hay when I was a kid on my grandfather's farm. Herbaceous notes with hints of clover and camomile and orange zest jumped right out of the glass. And then that unique mouthfeel with grip and staying power.
In searching for more info, I came across your site which closed the circle. I'm home. Grazie, Morris

[...] Stanko Radikon is one of the maverick naturalist wine makers from the Friuli region in Italy, close to neighboring Slovenia. His organic “Slovenian” wines are naturally fermented in large old barrels without temperature control. The grapes are harvested by hand, undergo long skin maceration and no artificial added yeasts or enzymes are used. Sulfites have been completely eliminated since 2002. The wines are not filtered.
